Please join us for the 2020 Professional Women Awards Gala & Auction, benefiting educational scholarships and local non-profits.

The Professional Women Awards Gala & Auction is a fundraiser in October, benefiting the Scholarship and Charity Programs of Whatcom Women in Business. The Scholarship Program awards up to $20,000 to women with financial need, pursuing careers that exemplify the areas WWIB honors and the Charity Program awards an annual monetary grant to a local non-profit.

In 2019, the success of the Professional Women Awards Gala & Auction raised funds allowing WWIB to grant $25,000 in educational scholarships and a $7,500 grant to Lydia Place's Heart House. Thank you to the hundreds of local individuals and businesses who sponsored, donated, and attended the 2019 Gala & Auction!

In addition, WWIB will recognizes the amazing accomplishments of the Professional Women of the Year (PWOTY) and the Community Legacy Award (CLA) Finalists and Winners. If you know an outstanding woman in our community we encourage you to read below for more information on submitting a nomination to honor an influential woman deserving of these awards.

Professional Woman of the Year Award

The Professional Woman of the Year (PWOTY) award is a unique recognition opportunity, honoring the incredible contributions of local women in business. Every year, we ask the public to submit nominations to highlight amazing women playing pivotal roles in their business and our community. These individuals develop future leaders, mentor our children and peers, and give back in ways that impact us all.

Through the collective effort of our community and members, dozens of women are nominated each year. We encourage you to submit a nomination to honor an influential woman in your life. Nominations are due Monday, May 11th by 5:00 pm. All nominees will then be invited to submit a full application for consideration, before May 31st. Finalists are selected by the Whatcom Women in Business Board of Directors and the winner is selected by the full WWIB Membership and unveiled at the Professional Women Awards Gala and Auction in October.
